“I Am Not Dead, I Am Still Alive” – Actor Abiodun Ayoyinka ‘Papa Ajasco’ Says Amid Mix-up

Papa Ajasco

Actor, Richard Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, has taken to the social media to reveal that he is not dead as he is still very much alive.

It was reported on Sunday, the 15th of January, 2023, that ‘Papa Ajasco died’.

This was first made public by a theatre practitioner known as Husseini Shaibu on Twitter.

“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one time stand in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead,” he tweeted.

This brought about a mix-up that it was the actor who originally played the character ‘Papa Ajasco’ in the family sitcom Papa Ajasco and Company, Richard Abiodun Ayoyinka, who died.

This is not true as the ‘Papa Ajasco’ who passed on is Femi Ogunrombi.

Femi Ogunrombi is a stand-in actor who took over the character, Papa Ajasco, when the former character, Abiodun Ayoyinka pulled out of the show.

To clarify this mix-up, Abiodun Ayoyinka, who is the more popular ‘Papa Ajasco’, has made a video to notify Nigerians that he is not the one who passed away, and he is still very much alive. In a video posted by Goldmyne, Abiodun Ayoyinka said

“My name is Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco. I am not dead, I am still alive. And thank you all my fans for your concern. I really appreciate you people”.
